The only settlement is built on the northern side the island with white traditional sun washed houses and paved roads where cars are not allowed.

The moment you step your foot on the island you feel the totally laid back atmosphere. Little cafes welcomes you to join the atmosphere. Just choose a table under the sun or under a shade and relax. Time will start moving slower.

When hungry, a great variety of taverns with traditional food and fresh fish will excite you. Let us know your preferences and we 'll arrange everything for you.

Along the village's two main streets you also find shops with traditional art, souvenirs, jewelry, casual wear, and our dive shop offering, scuba diving and snorkeling equipment, bikinis and shorts.

Following the main street, you will reach the only square of Antiparos where everybody meets in the evening for coffee, chat, and a drink at the surrounding bars. Next to the square, visit "Castro" a block of houses build on 1450 to protect the inhabitants from the pirates.In the same area a small museum of ancient Cycladic art is found.

 

PEOPLE
Antiparos has 1.000 inhabitants. Most of them work in tourism and the rest are fishermen. English is spoken from the majority, especially from younger people. After a few days on the island you'll be a friend to a dozen of them who will wait you back every year. In addition people from around the world and divers get to know each other easily and have fun together.
